Please be careful when downloading zip or rar-files from links that are posted here by people with a very low post-count, they are probably trying to trick you into installing a trojan.

Be careful when downloading anything by anyone, would be my warning. It's not entirely unknown for people to first build trust and then move in for the kill.

Before running any WoW video files, right-click the file and select Properties. If it states 'Application' as the file type, then it's not a video file at all and is in fact a virus of some kind, most likely a trojan spawner.

Another tip, make use of your browsers status bar. The status bar is the strip at the bottom of your browser (I'm using Fire Fox but I do believe each browser has a status bar) and if you move your mouse cursor over a link it will display the actual location. For example:

http://worldofwarcraft.com

You notice that it's a link and it looks like it's going to the official WoW website right? Wrong. Place your cursor over the link and then check your status bar. See the actual address?

I see wut you did there. You can't trust Canadians...




I usually don't download anything that comes from a url that is nothing but the IP address either.

Example:

• http://127.0.0.1/files/superawesomemodofpureawesomeness.zip

Just something else to be wary of...
