Hey guys just registered on the forums and thought this deserves to be shared. I stole this off allakhazam (who got it off blizz forums)

There was once a kid who went to the Blizzard God..

"I want to heal", and Blizzard gave him heals

"but WTF? Druids getz formz so ken i tu plxz?", and Blizzard gave him wolf form

"OMGLOLOL, my heals r not teh instantz", and Blizzard gave him nature's swift

He said,
"OMG but warriorz r teh hit so hard wit teh weaponz?", And Blizzard gave him Windfury

He said,
"BUT TETZ NO FAIRZ, teh enemyz r having pewerful bufforz?", And Blizzard gave him an instant low mana cast Purge

He said,
"K BUT I STILL KENT kite 4ever lyk teh OMG?", and Blizzard made the frostshock effect last longer than the cooldown


So the kid went on killing lowbies, shouting "WTFLOLOL PWND n00Bz0Rs" and using /spit.

After 7 hours of corpse camping, something terrible happened! A bunch of level 60 alliance guys managed to kill the shaman!


The kid went to the Blizzard God and said,

"OMGWTF, I R TEH DIEDZ BT I DUNT WUNT 2 do teh corpze runzors? i die lyk wtf i shundnt ROFL!"",
And Blizzard gave him a self rez with no sickness


And so the shaman class was born.

im not a shaman basher particularly,( im guessing because i havent had much 1v1 pvp yet, but the one time i dueled against shaman i lost terribly).

I got a 41 rogue and 52 hunter on kelthuzad.

Well, you get "shamans are imba" threads on the official wow-forums all the time and it gets annoying after a while. Yes, the shaman is incredibly strong if played properly, but he can be beaten if you know how. Actually, it's like this with most classes.

As hunter you have to hold the Shaman at distance and shoot him. Once you get into melee you are as good as dead. As rogue you usually win if you get the initiative. Look out for the anti-poision totem.

Frost Shock + EarthBind <-- My reponse about getting distance.

Well Frost Shock works only three times. After that you won't even get damage from that spell. And earthbind-totems can be quickly disabled with your arcane insta shot (just use a lowlevel version to safe mana). Also don't forget about your melee-kite, clipped wing or what it's called. And that shot that confuses your enemy for two seconds. AND your ice-trap.
If you combine those things with some good timing you will get as much distance as you want.
Also don't forget about your mana-burning shot. It's probably the best weapon against a Shaman.

1. Arcane Shot has a 6 sec cooldown (5 sec with tal) - so i cant spam it on ur totems all the time. I need to hit you too...
2.Scatter Shot (4 second confusion) is hardly enough time and has a 5 min cooldown...
3.Feign Death + Ice Trap is only possible once every 30 seconds, and with a shammy having u earthbound and frost shock snared most of the time u will be in combat so trap becomes very tough. oh and any dot will make FD+trap not work at all...

4. Melee Kite although possible wont get me range if im snared constantly.

5. Melee Dmg output is very low compared to shammy anyway (even with pet), thanks to shammy totems we wont ever compare there. and micromanagement of killing totems is a pain teh arse beyond comprehension. My pet isnt smart enuff to do it himself either.

6. Oh and yah, shammy can heal too.,.


EDIT: forgot to add more things:

7. We cant run with AOP/AOC coz of daze effect so forget that, its either FS forever effect or dazed thanks to shammy instant shockerzz..

8. Our Mana burner - Viper Sting requires range so unless we arent FS/Earthbind to hell we cant do that (Maybe Once in the beginning).

9. Deadzone is also an issue since we cant fire our stings constantly and melee is useless as mentioned before.

Sure, all of those talents have some drawbacks, as do the spells of the Shaman. Frost Shock can be used only three times and it is very easy to run out of the range of any totems.
Shaman is stronger than hunter in 1on1, but if you have a very skilled hunter you can anyway win. Kiting shot and manaburn, then wing clip/ice trap/scatter shot and you have a huge advantage when he gets close to you. You pet can stretch out the time he needs for healing so unless he's very lucky and lands a windfury triple crit you will win.

Hunter comes Conc Shot,
shammy FS, shammy moves in (conc shot has 12 second cool down) so effectively shammy will reach hunter for sure (chain FS of course).
Shammy reaches hack slash Earthbind. Hunter WC, shammy still hack slash.
hunter scatter shot.
Hunter moves out of range.
Hunter FD+Ice Trap (shammy sees this already duh, he know basics about Hunters).
Hunter runs with AOP
Shammy FS, shammy run in Throw Earthbind, warstomp.
Shammy Hack slash hunter low on hp by now (shammy throws in fire totem for some dmg. earth shock if u like as well).
Hunter cant FD! (not cooldown yet). Hunter cant scatter (cooldown).
Hunter Wing Clip. Hunter try to run, oh noes Earthbound. ok still run, *hack slash continues*. Run out of range, gains some range, AOP, <insert useable damage shock here> uh oh DAZED.
Shammy comes in hack slash earthbind..

continue till hunter finally dies with shammy at at least 30% HP ( it can be 100 if shammy uses nature swift heal).





Notice ive only used one shammy special talent.

EDIT - Oh just found out shammy has a skill called Flame Shock (DOT) so forget FD+Icetrap (only super quick reflex or lag can help).

EDIT2 - I should mention this is all with Marks Hunter , BM hunter might be different but dunno too much about that.

Hmm maybe i should respec to survival, we have a top tier talent that does 133 dmg over 21 seconds yummy!!21111
