Tell you what...

Delete the file all together and then enter they key again in the menu. Then mark the file as read only before joining the game.

I bet that will do it..

But that is exactly what I did several times...
but I will try it again...

?all together means: all the "rtcwkey" files... so only one file... or can i delete more without to hurt the game!

hmmmz dont get me wrong ive seen people been kicked alot lately by means of duplicate Pbguid's

unterguru & rudi share same pbguid i wonder why , maybe rudi sold his copy to you unterguru but maybe im wrong , i saw both rudi and u once beeing kicked on same pbguid on rockridge and on lonewolf..

if u dont believe me try looking @ www.yawn.be and lookup your nickname then click the partial pbguid and then ud see the nicklist people used before ...

maybe it explains alot :)

Ohhhh....you are completely wrong!

I know that we were kicked...cause he allowed me to use his key one time!
Cause I wanted to check the game out...and he came online then and we were kicked!

And he is the one who is always trying to help me!!! I know him for some years...

Well, I bought that game from a 16 year old boy... (my girlfriends brother, who definetely does not know RUDI)! *g*

But it was quite clever Sherlock...It could have been possible...but it isn't!

PS. just to get it to know:

what does that list at yawn mean to me. there are 16 player who had this PB guid before...???

Iam tired to explain things - only one example: If I want to play on RR then I NEED to borrow me a key of my friends because Iam banned there for no reason since 3 month. :)

Yep I did that and I saw an important thing! If I look for =wwe=rudi then it shows me 3 keys - but I know it better - there should be 4!! So I looked for the missed key and found out that it is Unterguru's key, GUID #########.
Iam sure that I played with his key several times! But the best thing is - a yawn search for Untergurus GUID shows nothing about it as good as it wouldnt exits - IMO there is something wrong with his key.
Something dark and dirty thing is happened to Untergurus key.

Sh*** you discovered me and Unterguru. I have to come out. We are gay and we are sharing all our things. :beer:

I'm glad you guys don't have wanted posters yet... I don't need such pictures in my mind this morning.....

I really don't know why your key does not work....

What happens when you hit verify key? Does it say it is valid?

The Problem is that sometimes it works and sometimes not - on Untergurus comp it never get to work.
As I said it must have something to do with the dark power.

@queeg: yes the key has always been valid, when i typed it in RTCW! no problems!

LOL - I had the same problem early on. And couldn't get it sorted till I marked it as read only.... after that it worked. The trick is to mark it Read Only immediately after it works. I caught it at the right time and I haven't had a probem since....

Something just aint' quite right with the system....

And also make sure that the working directory in the windows Icons is always set to the RtCW directory. That can mess things up too I expect...
