But that would be what makes it cool, there could be a lot more interesting and visually stimulating cinematics in a guardsmen game than space marines. Guardsmen are always fighting to stay alive and the cinematics could play off of that with some assault scenes where men are getting cut down around you and such. Whereas in all these space marine games it just shows them kicking ass and when they're fighting through swarms of Tyrannids or whatever. And think of how many different missions you could do as a guardsman, you could have tank missions, foot soldier missions, gunner missions, and even pilot missions.
Pretty much, but that would really just make it a reskin. Which I'm fine with so long as the gameplay is fun and the plot holds my interest. Because I would rather see they go with a good thing like a CoD4 style gameplay than make something out of the blue and have it be a big flop (i.e. DoW2 [in my opinion]).

If they could come up with a way to make that flow with gameplay then I'd be all for it. However if it ends up halting gameplay and becoming a burden, I can't see that as good.

It should be noted, though, that while the game has strong ties to the Warhammer 40,000 universe, its story is, apparently, unconnected to other games in this series. This is neither a prequel nor a sequel, nor even a parallel tale, to any previous game.
There, that should clear the dispute about it being about Dawn of War.
That eldar game sounds like fun though, being able to jump wherever you want in the battlefield and coming up behind enemies to cut there throats would be fun.

Hurray, another RPG. That was so exciting the last time they did it, I think it's time to start trying new ideas. So far they've hit; FPS (not a very good one, but still), RTS, and RPG.
