I think that instead of having another expansion they should make a DOW2, with even better graphics, gameplay and the new civ's.

The thing is that by the time the 2nd expansion is released DOW will be outclassed by games such as Mark Of Chaos etc.

Apparantley there is going to be a dawn of war two that will use the company of heroes engine, whether that is just a rumour or actually confirmed by relic I don't know, but if it is true it won't be out for ages yet as company of heroes isn't even out yet and they have this expansion pack coming. It would be cool though.

It won't be the same as DOW. From what I heard, it will be like RTW. It won't have the base-building and that crap. But you must admit, on a battlemap, seeing the armies of chaos rampaging from the north and destroying everything before them, is pretty cool.

Ya... Mark of chaos is set in warhammer fantasy and has the "total war" feel to it. But there are added things to it, such as champion duels, where the hero's of either side will meet on a battlefield and automatically pair off to fight. The battlefield will actually split for them.

DoW2? It's only rumour so far. Tranj from THQ has hinted that the game has sold well enough to warrant one, but nothing definite has been said. As for the DoWFiles news - that could very easily be an XP2 announcement.

Mark of Chaos is going to be nothing like DoW. Warhammer is far more unit-based with ranks and rolling hills on the battle field. Like the others said, it's a Rome Total War style, not DoW style.

Personally, I'd rather have another expansion before DoW2. There's still so much that can be done with DoW that it doesn't make sense to replace it yet.

i think DOW is fine how it is no need to change the graphics there is obviuosly a few things they could change but not alot of it needs changing

I think that better graphics would be cool but unneccesary. I do think that they should boot up missile damage aswell.

We have to assume Relic will port DOW to their new engine. They BETTER!
Ive got alot of experience with game editing (I used to be pro) and Ive been working with dow's engine since it came out. There are some very silly flaws that make it worth dropping.

W40K is a totally GOLDEN franchise and DOW is a superbly designed game. They are idiots if they dont make it all that can be.

Games these days need specular maps, bump maps and advanced shaders.
Normal Maps are a must have feature until Relief Maps get adopted. DOW wastes its texture budget on mixable color maps.
