Default adding atachments

how do you add an attachment to an entire group of units like i want to add a gun to peasents and when i mek them at the castle i want them to spawn holding it. basically i need to know how to make and entire group of units hold an item

I haven't actualy tested this but:

goto the Object Editor and then to the Abilities tab.
right click on custom abilities folder and goto 'new custom ability'
Name the new ability
change base ability to Item and select 'Item Attack Fire Bonus'
find 'Art - Icon - Normal' and change it to whatever Icon you want
find 'Art - Target' and change it to whatever model you what,
You will probly need to make a new model and import it.
find 'Art - Target Attechment Point' and change it to read: weapon
find 'Data - Bonus Damage' and change it to whatever you wish
find 'Sound - Effect Sound' and change it to whatever
find 'Stats - Cast Range' and change it to whatever,
higher numbers for ranged attacks obviously (usualy over 200)
find 'Stats - Cooldown' and change to modify how quickly he attacks
find 'Stats - Targets Allowed' Do not select conflicting targets this setting,
is sorta limited, but you can select Air, and Ground.
find 'Text - Name' This is the name as it appears in the editor.

Now goto the Unit Tab.
goto Human>Melee>Units>Peasent
find 'Abilities - Normal'
>Add Ability>Change the pulldowns to 'Item' and 'custom'
select you custom ability.

Now all Peasents in THAT MAP ONLY will spawn with your custom ability.


Let me know if it works, If things don't go right just play test it and tweek the variable a bit.
