Inquisitor requesting help for Mordheim Project
 
Greetings first time poster and fairly new to the WCIII editing community. At first I thought it would be simple after using RPGMker 2k3 but the two are very diferent (WHERE ARE MY SWITCHES!!) Anywho I was curious if you people could help me out with a few n00bish problems I have while creating a Mordheim themed map (Synopsis. Try to get the most kills in a certian length of time while fighting for precious "wrydstone" that will grant you an incredible amount of gold.)


1. I have seen these Leaderboards everywhere and I think one in my game would provide a nice competetive side to the game. So my questions in reguards to leaderboards include the basics on how do I create a leaderboard recording kills made by players, how can I set that varible as a win condition (the player with most wins), and how can I make a second, simultamoius leaderboard displaying how many shards of wrydstone is in a players possesion (Mainly the creating the 2nd board is my question, I understand that to change the varible it's somthing like [when hero picks up wrydstone add 1 to value, when hero drops wrydstone blah blah blah])

2. Well there is a vampire in the game. The Vampire is vulnerable to light, so I THINK I have a game plan where when the time equals each hour of the day it will damage the vampire a little, if there is a way I can set it to deal X amount of damage (preferbly a %) every few seconds during daylight that would be awsome. How does the vamp survive? By getting into his coffin that heals him (I already got this one programmed.... but only a numerical value, can I set the heal to a percentage or should I simply alter the amount it heals him per level?)

3. Sewer transportation, in this vast city the Skaven, a race of rat-people, are able to use sewers to there advantage. Would programming some sort of transportation system be as simple as (When "insert race" enters Region, warp to the Region) or is not as simple?

Okay..... now for the BIG questions....

4. I know nothing on how to go about this, but I wish to attempt to create a few individuals called Hired Swords, special mercenarys who you must find. How I think it would be programed: Every few minutes the hired swords appear in random spots on the field (not perfectly random, but random as far as what pre-set region he/she appears), they remain there for a few minutes, and if no one finds them they disapper for another few minutes and the process starts over. (My friend is helping me with creating the payment method of the Swords, the "merc." is actual a shop with the model as the character, there is a purchase feature that replaces the shop with a hero and stops the script of random apperances.)

5. Wrydstone. I've got the model perfectly set...... and all it's properties, I even almost have it set that while it's in your possesion it burns your character 5 damage every second (it's kinda glitchy though). HOWEVER wrdstone is an element rare within the city and appears randomly much like the hired Swords. I wish to do this like waves, where a few appear in one of severa pre planned regions (although perfectly random would be awsome), and a new wave of stones won't appear until all the wyrdstone has been picked up and/or sold (I guess son "If 0 Wyrdstones are in feild, spawn new wave" or whatever). but the wrystones fall in different spots each time a new wav appears, and to better help the player find the wrydstone in the massive city, when the wrdstone hits each spot a wrydstone is generate it creates a map ping, representing a ripple in the magic winds and helps the players know where wrydstone is (and better increases the chance of two groups coming to one wyrdstone and fighting for it).


I'm sure I'll have pletny of more questions as this map progresses but it's good to find a forum for help. Thanks to ANYONE who can help me with this map and if you are curious what mordheim is it is a game based off of the WarHammer Fantasy tabeltop battle system, at the Games Workshop website you can see more. Also final question, much like other skin editing (I love editing Black and White skins) I assume I simply need an extractor program and an image editor. I know how to do all this stuff, but i cannot help you until i get my warcraft back : ( But as soon as i do, if no one else has helped you yet, i will be glad to help you with your issues.
