This is the point where i remember that the American Cell networks 5uxx0r5, and cell phones still seem to be a bit of a novelty over there.
I think the current British average is 3.4* phones per head (including children).

well, they're still sort of a novelty...of course paying $30 a month for 120 minutes a month on weekdays, 250 minutes on weekends, and after that 45 cents a minute (ouch). kinda su><0rs...
in europe all that stuff is incredibly cheap...in sweden it's even cheaper
They are kind of a novelty/status possession I suppose. It's gotten a lot worse over the last like 2 years or so though. Everywhere I look now, someone is using one.
I have one, but I really only use it for emergencies, or when I absolutely have to make a call and I'm not near a phone. My friends used to tease me about being a tech geek for having one, but then I showed them how much easier it is to arrange beer runs, and it's all good now.
