General Proctection Fault

For a number of times, i crashed out during online fragging in UT servers, and it display the message General Protection fault - with something like ticks, actors ..main loop etc.
What is wrong, i'm using 400 version of UT.

Does anyone know the fix to this, or is it version compatible issues ?

I think I get that too. If it's a very long description of routines that were called separated by arrows (-> ), it's very similar to what I get.

I'm using a GeForce on a P3B-F with 256MB RAM.

It was suggested to me that I use the d3ddrv.dll beta supplied by the makers. It may solve your problem.

Also, I noticed you were running the 400 version. Update to the 405b patch. It might alleviate some of your problems. Most servers out there are using the 405b patch anyway.

the 406 patch will fix this error!

You still get the error message with the 405b , UMMM , havent seen a 406 yet!

What rendering device are you using? OGL? Glide? It sounds like D3D, though... make sure Direct Play is upgraded... they have a patch on MS's site...

Here's the skinny on the upcomming UT 406 patch: http://www.warzone.com/cgi-bin/WarNe..._Fix_List.html

This will fix the assertion error. No release date as of yet, but I read that it was actually to be released with the bonus pack. That didn't happen. They're probably waiting to see if there are any bugs with the bonus pack, then add appropriate fixes for them to the 406.

It's frustrating playing a buggy game that came from a company that can't focus on the problems because of other time contstraints.

I'm glad Epic is on top of things.
