kicked off server?

ok, i was crazy, but i tried it anyway.
i took my lame-ass P166 out to a server fr the hell of it.
first i went as a spectator, then i couldn't resist.
i joined a game and got pretty much what i expected - shandows of bodies going by, they'd be gone by the time i turned to aim, etc.
i got 1 kill, and died 26 times.
on the last death, i couldn't respawn, but i could see the counters and timers increasing..
i was getting pings around 500, others were getting around 76 - 130.
did i get kicked off the server for being too slow and ruining the game?
if i ever actually get my cable modem installed - now 56kv90 - even tho i have a slow machine, will my pings drop even a little bit??
or will i just continue to ruin the games for everybody with faaster machines???
i'm depressed!!

Wah?, Are you playin on the server?
Then you should have no ping at all.
You lost me. Are you connecting through
your Lan?

Technically, you shouldn't be able to play on less than a Pentium 200, so maybe if all your detail is set minimum, with a cable modem you should still get a good connection, although I don't know how your comp would handle it.
