Easily, as long as you only have 1 hard drive. ------------------ http://www.angelfire.com/mi/Strebs/images/DolbySig2.gif [AxE]Dolby: your friendly neighborhood SpiderMan. |
is it possible to have a cd-rw, dvd rom, and a 50 speed cd rom in 1 PC My cd-rw sucks. I wana get a 50 speed Cd-rom Can i have all 3??? They won't be running at the same time of course |
There are 4 ide channels. Regular (non-SCSI, or external) cd-rom's, and hard drives use 1 of them. So you could have any combination, as long as you don't have more than 4. Unless of coarse if you have RAID. Then you can have 8...I think. ------------------ http://www.angelfire.com/mi/Strebs/images/DolbySig2.gif [AxE]Dolby: your friendly neighborhood SpiderMan. |
It's possible... but I suggest running just a DVD ROM and a CDRW. No reason to have all three. The DVD ROM is fast enough to use as your primary CD ROM drive. ------------------ X |

a burner(cdrw) and a DVD are all you need.. normal cd-roms are becoming outdated with newer technology. BTW tech freaks did you hear any current news about UDTV or that newer DVD format? just curious, I haven't heard about them for a while now. If you must have all three, go for SCSI(if possible) you could fit all three on one scsi channel. ------------------ Neo69|UTK| UTK Homepage |
Why do you need anything faster than 24x anyway? Programs may install a few seconds faster, big deal. ------------------ X |
BTW - Dolby... RAID has nothing to do with the number of drives your PC can support. RAID takes an array of physical disks and creates one logical drive. ------------------ X |
yeah, but MAKE SURE you dont have the 50x on the same cable as the CDRW, or it'll really degfrade performance when copying a CD from the 50x to the CDRW ------------------ http://www.angelfire.com/md/hickeroar/hick.gif Neo69 wishes he was as cool as me..... |
