UT Player Peeves

Hi all...

I thought it would be cool to start up a thread stating my biggest "Peeve" with players in games.

How bout sharing in this thread...

Mine is, haha being blown to bits with the Redeemer. Not so much being honed in on and obliterated, but having an enemy blow you up 5 feet from ya!!! Such a mindless attack.
He kills me and himself too.
An act of a player who doesn't re-act well under pressure. haha

Yeah, Renegade. I used to feel the same way, until I really thought about it and also been in that position then not pulling the trigger. The other player gets a frag AND the redeemer you have.

Now, if I have the redeemer cocked and ready and no time to change weapons cuz this guy's spooling up a round of 6 rockets, then I'll let him have it. He gets no frag, no redeemer, I get 1 frag, but a suicide negates the frag.

So I'm even, he's out a frag, me, plus whatever he was going to get with that redeemer.

I try not to put people into that position. Frag 'em quick afar off a bit then grab the redeemer.

My big peeve is a spawm-camper. you know, those guys that wait around a spawn point and pick ya off before you can take a step.

Another is some guy that is a "good" player but when he frags ya he calls ya a lamer or such... not the auto-taunts.

Or the guy who wins and says "You all suck big time.... " or some such thing.

Or a server still using version 400 and the redeemer blows up in yer face with Alt-fire. Man, at least use the 402 patch or 405b.

And the "teaming up" in staight DM. Wanna play teams, get on a Team DM server.

My peeve is the entire multiplayer system. It was designed to be so complex that my friends with even 56k modems and not PERFECT phone lines can't play, there's so much lag and packet dropping. That says nothing of where it leaves me, still having a 33.6 until I go to college.

my peeve is being called a cheater and being banned from servers, and for what you ask? well to tell you the truth I'm one of the nicer guys you'll meet on a CTF server, but in this one game it was flag capture limit 10 and a bunch of average or below average gamers, by the time 5 caps had gone by my points was 80+ and most everyone else was sub 30, anyways many times things like this will happen, I get a kick ass score and the admin bans my IP for me kickin as!? that's my major peeve, well that and having other players call me a cheater or sayin I must be using some sort of cheatin device (though I don't use any device if there even is one and I don't cmap or even spawn camp...just good ole rocket launching and ASMD fun

I KNEW you were using a cheating device.

Lag spikes piss me off.
Jump around the corner and pull the trigger on the RL....
then find out that you haven't actually jumped around the corner yet, but you HAVE pulled the trigger.

im sure you will agree with me the thing that ticks me of the most is when your getting your butt kicked then realize the other team has 4 more people then you!

My peeve is after a game is over, and everybody says GG (good game for the newbies... you should ALWAYS say this) and there's that one shmoe who insists on whining, bitching. moaning, etc. I play this game for fun. Win, lose, it's all a GAME! For example; We were playing assault on the UT servers. I had a bunch of newbies (you could tell) and a bunch of decent players were on the other team. We'd accomplish the mission in like 4-5 minutes, then the opposite team would do it in like 2. Everyone would go GG, and this one little prick would bitch about how they did it so fast, and they must be cheating, they were all on cable or sumthin , etc. etc. etc.
I'm like a complaint magnet cuz there's ALWAYS one in the server I join. Well, that's MY peeve anyway...

Oh yeah... and people who accuse me of cheating when I tele-punt up to the cliff wall in lava giant and start sniping... but I kinda laugh at that one...

I hate it when people say their team sucks, and yet they have the lowest amount of points on their team. Spawn campers piss me off...until I cap them with my own sniper rifle. Falling off levels is annoying too (I do that a lot, as some people can attest who played on my server with me ). But, UT is still just a game, so I try not to let those things get to me.
