I got a Radeon 64mb card for $269. So far I'm not too impressed... UT and Unreal Gold both run comparable to my Voodoo3. I tried D3D and OpenGL, D3D seemed to run better... and I still cannot tell the difference between 16 and 32 bit color. I need to try running something other than the Unreal engine... like Sacrifice or Giants. Both those games were running like crap on the Voodoo3. If anybody knows any tips, tweaks, etc for this thing... let me know.

In some cases a faster vid card won't increase quality or FPS. The CPU calculates the triangles. The video card "renders" or paints those triangles. Soooo.....
the vid card can paint only as many triangles as the CPU can provide and no more.

What is your CPU?
