Default Geforce questions

Alright I just got the CL Annihilator Pro and
I can't play UT in D3D it just freezes before the opening demo. And I can play it in OpenGL but it's choppy. I was wondering if anyone knew if there was a fix for this or if it's driver issues and I just have to wait. Also how do I get s3tc textures enabled? I tried to run it in S3 metal mode but it won't let me says rendered failed and reverts back to software.

Thanks for your help.

Many people using GeForce based cards can not get D3D mode to work in UT. I wish I could help you more, but all I can say is sit tight and wait for another patch. For now, keep using OpenGL. If choppiness is a major concern, try fiddling with settings under Control Panel | Display or changing your AGP texture size in the BIOS to something higher.

As far as my knowledge with getting the S3 texture compression to work, you need an S3 card that supports it. Your Annihilator Pro is probably choking on the textures, since it doesn't support S3 texture compression.

I'm using a Diamond Viper II and trust me the S3ct Drivers look no better than software rendering.

To everyone whose card supports texture compression but isn't getting results in UT: Have you installed the "Extras" CD that comes with the full version? Because I believe that's where the S3TC textures are, not on the game disc...
