Anyone played on the Drunken Sniper public servers?? I assume that they are all the same, with their auto-ping-kicks:
but one i was on was giving me a nice ping, normally 100-170 ish in a CTF-instagib match, i was ruling the map for my team and the bastard ping started to fluctuate, for second intervals - so i kept getting warned that i was about to be kicked. But each time my ping dropped in time - i think the limit was 220 or 250, something like that. Anyway, closing stages of the game, teams are neckandneck, we are two players short of the other team but holding our own and the bastard instant-kick device decides that my ping didnt drop back down fast enough so kicked me. ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRG was not dissimilar to the noise i uttered.

In the end i logged back in for the last two minutes of the map, (lavagiant) but obviously i started with no frags and our team lost the last capture. Sucked to the extreme, let me tell you. Was a great game until that point, but i suppose i knew the score beforehand. Just seemed really unfair, my ping wasnt actually high, it just jumped up in the opinion of the server for tiny intervals when not packetsending.

geez, if everyone did that then I would never be able to get a game. You all know how good my connection is off my 56k ...

What actually gives you a good ping cause as you know I probably have the worst connection on these boards but my ping rarely goes above 250 - usually about 200....

Being close to the servers - my connection is ok but a lot of my gaming is transatlantic, which sux royally.

something to note, even though I agree that he was a prick, just because I know who it was.
the game was instagib, where ping has a far greater effect than it would in a ormal game ie "wep's"

Thanks Sex. Yes yes it was instagib. Although most people here know I'm and instagibber. So they may have already factored that in.
