Ruger Super Redhawk .44 mag........ http://www.ruger-firearms.com/images/ksrh7b.gif Just bought this same revolver a couple of weeks ago but with a stainless steel 2X6 power scope. Awesome gun! Kicks like a mule though. Just thought I share that with ya'all, I'm pretty happy with it.....any other gun nuts out there??? Or am I the only "redneck" on this forum.......... ------------------ Peace Out |
Why don't you go play Russian Roulette with it? http://boards.ioerror.com/wink.gif Ugh.. Revolvers are stupid.. They remind me of cowboys, and I hate cowboy related stuff. ------------------ "Better the Devil you know." Unreal Tournament Center Webmaster Go to http://www.utcenter.com for all your UT needs! |
Hehehe.....Oh come on now Old Grendel!!! A cowboy with a revolver that has a scope?? It's cool though, I also own a Glock .40 cal. Another awesome gun. http://boards.ioerror.com/smile.gif http://www.glockmeister.com/glock22.jpg ------------------ Peace Out |

SHIT!!! I HATE when I do that!! ------------------ Peace Out |
Yeah, nice piece. I'm a paper cutter myself. Used to own a S&W 44 Model 29 83/8" barrel. Sweet wheel gun. Because the boreline is lower it's kick is more backward than upward which made it more comfortable to shoot. Put 3500 rounds thru the gun over time and it was nowhere near shotout. The most accurate handgun I had was the Thompson Centerfire Contender chambered for the .222 cal rifle cartridge. Though it's a one shot the small bore and muzzle velocity would hold a group of 5 covered with a quarter at 50 yds. I outshot many 30-30s with that thing. http://boards.ioerror.com/smile.gif |
hehe....Cool, another gun nut. http://boards.ioerror.com/smile.gif This is the first hand gun I have shot/owned that has a scope. Sure is different than shooting without one.....You see EVERY shake and wiggle you got! AS for how it kicks, it's not so bad if I'm standing up shooting, but if I'm shooting from a bench or off a rest, I can't shoot more than 25 or 30 rounds before it starts to hurt. It's not as bad with the scope on it, scope makes it a little heavier. http://boards.ioerror.com/smile.gif Never fired a Thompson, I've always wanted one in .308 though. ------------------ Peace Out |
A friend of mine has a Desert Eagle .44 mag... I shot that thing twice and it felt like somebody punched my palm. Cool fucking gun, though. X ------------------ |
This gun is worse than a Desert Eagle believe it or not. ------------------ Peace Out |
There for a while I was really into the wheel guns. Loaded my own shells. I thought that way I would save half the money on shooting. HEHE didn't work out that way, I just shot twice as much. http://boards.ioerror.com/smile.gif |
Hey, OG.... I dare you to play Russian Roulette with a semi-auto handgun http://boards.ioerror.com/wink.gif . ------------------ X |
Shit, what are you guys doing with all these guns, planning to overthrow the government? Or just go hunting, get pissed, and shoot everything that moves (and plenty that dont http://boards.ioerror.com/wink.gif). |
Uh oh. Is this gonna be another pro-anti gun thread? *groans* The firearms are here, they are legal in the US, people own them, some like to talk about them, gun shops are very legal. sheeesh... |
Since we are on this subject... how many people does it piss off they they blame murders on the video games the killer played... it couldn't be that the person was just fucked up to begin with, or his parents fucked him up? Of course not... he saw it was ok to shoot Cyberdemons with a BFG on a video game, so it's ok to steal a real gun and shoot his classmates. I hope I speak for a LOT of gamers out there when I say that no matter how much blood I see on TV or my computer, it will NEVER prepare me enough to see a person getting murdered, or murder a person myself. That makes no sense to me that people would think video games could alter a person that much. ------------------ X [This message has been edited by Xevious (edited March 16, 2000).] |
The question isn't "influence" but "MOTIVATION". Where does THAT come from? Answer that question and we get to the "root" of the problem instead of just treating the symptoms. |
Erm, Potluck, if you were saying that I was trying to turn this into a pro-anti gun thread, maybe you should have paid attention to the little winky I put at the end http://boards.ioerror.com/wink.gif. It was a joke. I don't like guns but as long as they've got enough brains to keep em locked away I couldnt give a rats arse if someone likes guns. [This message has been edited by Hari-Kari Krishna (edited March 16, 2000).] |
Hmmmm, this guy just screwed my girlfriend... THAT is motivation to kill somebody (Just an example). I can see what you are saying, though. Kind of like a kid wants to be superman after watching the movie, or how a guy wants to get in a fight after watching the Matrix. But NEVER, have I seen a movie that motivated me to think about killing anybody. BUT, I guess not everybody is the same. I guess this is just a never ending argument. ------------------ X |
Hari-Kari: Sorry, just one of those days.. http://boards.ioerror.com/redface.gif Yeah, Xevious, I can see your point about the example. But animals react or respond to stimuli too. It's primal. I never saw a gun in school as a kid. So as technology advances our civilized nature goes backwards. Like back to "Me Tarzan, you Jane." *beats fists on chest*. *pulls out his Bulk nuclear transmutation processing pulse gun and zaps the fella that screwed Jane* http://boards.ioerror.com/smile.gif "Never ending arguement"? True enough. [This message has been edited by PotLuck (edited March 16, 2000).] |
LOL @ both of you http://boards.ioerror.com/smile.gif . Just so you know, I wasn't trying to argue with you... I was just stating how I felt about it. ------------------ X |
Aw Xevious, just havin' fun... Boring day at the office.. http://boards.ioerror.com/smile.gif |
I'm glad I'm not the only one that's bored... http://boards.ioerror.com/smile.gif ------------------ X |
I personally agree with Xevious completely. I can't stand it when these people try and blame video games when people go homicidal. If anything, you should blame the guy who killed someone for being such a fucking idiot that he let himself be influenced into killing someone because of a video game. And another thing, what's with this "Guns don't kill people, people kill people." I think that the gun sure as hell helps!! I'm all for making guns harder to get and also making sure the person buying them is not a mental patient. But when it gets so bad that everyone has to be punished because a few frickin' idiots have to go kill someone, that's what irks me. Oh yea, I personally have a .22 long rifle with a 10x scope (I can hit a target the size of a nickel from 100 yds away with that baby), a Glok 9mm, and a Enfield 1861 (For my Civil War re-enactments) ------------------ Master of the He-Bitch Slap! All will beware!!!! |
I've been playing violent games all my life, but I've never been motivated to kill anyone! I've even got several guns at my house (A .223 w/scope, a .22, a 9mm pistol, and a 12 guage shotty), yet I would never dream of using them on a person! Those people who say video games kill people are complete morons! Pisses me off... ------------------ "Better the Devil you know." ManWhore, You said "Whats with this guns don't kill people, people kill people." Consider this hypothetical situation....Suppose people, criminals, murders, physco's ect. ect., decided that guns were out for killin people and......two litre Dr. Pepper bottles were in. Are ya gonna say "two litre Dr. pepper bottles dont kill people, people kill people kill people."? My point is guns in and of themselves don't kill people, so why ban them or make them harder to get? Would you ban Dr. Pepper? I don't think so. http://boards.ioerror.com/smile.gif And does anyone really think gun control laws are gonna make it harder for criminals to get guns? As if the people that are prone to murder are gonna do it with a legally obtained firearm. All these laws do is make it a pain in the ass for those of use that don't do these crazy things to obtain firearms. The saying "10% of the people cause 90% of the problems for 100% of the people" comes to mind. Sorry about my rant session, I feel strongly about the subject. http://boards.ioerror.com/smile.gif ------------------ Peace Out |
Old Grendel: Used the .223 military brass for the .222 contender I had. Worked great. On the same line of thought as your post, I'd been around guns from diapers 'til now. Played "ARMY" in the fields of Pennsylvania as a kid. You know, "BANG, BANG, YER DEAD" scenario. Played FPS games a lot. Friends too. But none of us ever had that desire to pick up a firearm to kill on intention. While growing up as a teen it was considered low to pull a gun or even a knife. That would be viewed as a lack of "Manhood" as the teen mentality of those days went. But things have really changed drastically now-a-days. Seems it's a no-holds-barred frame of mind just as long as you win. Winning today is everything and I don't agree with that attitude. Where is it headed? *shrugs* |
"Were supposed to act like mindless cyborgs... wait, we play ut, not Q3" Good point Raptor, now everyone repeat after me "we are all individuals" http://boards.ioerror.com/wink.gif. |

I had a Super Redhawk(9 1/2 bbl) with a Leupold 4x scope. Sold it and bought something that REALLY kicks like a mule, a Premier Grade .454 Casull (it goes good with my Ruger #1 in .416 magnum). Pray for your Redemption EH |
OOOOHHHH!!!! I WANT ONE!!!! Those are awesome guns. EXPENSIVE! Do you like it? And you got the Premier Grade...oooohhh.. http://boards.ioerror.com/smile.gif ------------------ Peace Out |
Yup Jethro........they are fun.....good thing I hand-load....the ammo would drain the bank. Pray for your Redemption EH |
Cool, I reload as well.... .44 mag, .40 SW, 30-06, 300 Win Mag, .357 mag, .38 Spl, .308 Win, ummmmm......I think thats it..... http://boards.ioerror.com/smile.gif ------------------ Peace Out |
http://www.magnumresearch.com/old/im...gle_pistol.gif .50 AE Desert Eagle.....This is my dream gun! http://boards.ioerror.com/smile.gif Altought I cant afford the $1200!! I can dream though.... ------------------ Peace Out [This message has been edited by Jethro (edited March 17, 2000).] |
Jethro: Curious, what kind of powder do you use for the wheel guns? |
I pretty much only use 2 different powders: In the .44 with a 240gr JHP- 18.0gr 2400, with a 180gr JHP- 23.3gr 2400 In the .357 with a 158gr JSP- 15gr 2400 In the .38 with a 125gr JHP or JSP- 5.2gr Universal. What do you use in your .454? ------------------ Peace Out [This message has been edited by Jethro (edited March 17, 2000).] |
Wheel guns I used a slow burning powder like 296 Ball Powder. I know, it's a bit dirty but I had a long barrel and the gap between the cylinder and the throat of the barrel allows a lot of gas to escape. With that powder I was still making pressure the full travel length of the barrel. Never had the .454 thunder Jet. A friend of mine did. I've forgotten what I used in the .222 contender. They were a closed chamber firearm so powder had to be faster than the revolvers. |
The best powder there is for FULL power loads in magnum handguns(.45mag, .454, .44, ect)is H110 from Hodgdon. 296 is very close(a bit hotter and slightly dirtier. 2400 is ok but is REALLY dirty and the mv is higher (usally)with the other two. If you reload for magnum autos like the Eagle the best powder is Accurate #9...good velocity and very clean. Just be VERY careful to follow the loading manuals EXACTLY....otherwise you may damage the gun AND the shooter. EH |
There are also a lot of variables, What brass you are using, primer, bullet brand and wieght, and different guns like different combonations of all this stuff as well. I don't think there is an absolute best powder/bullet/brass ect. ect. Combo, Just takes alittle trial and error to find what shoots best in your particular gun. I've used H110 before as well...Just never got around to buying anymore. I got a bunch of 2400 really cheap, So thats what I have been using. And who wants to send me there unwanted Desert Eagle .50 AE???? http://boards.ioerror.com/smile.gif I can dream...... ------------------ Peace Out |
