Uh oh. Is this gonna be another pro-anti gun thread? *groans* The firearms are here, they are legal in the US, people own them, some like to talk about them, gun shops are very legal. sheeesh...
Since we are on this subject... how many people does it piss off they they blame murders on the video games the killer played... it couldn't be that the person was just fucked up to begin with, or his parents fucked him up? Of course not... he saw it was ok to shoot Cyberdemons with a BFG on a video game, so it's ok to steal a real gun and shoot his classmates. I hope I speak for a LOT of gamers out there when I say that no matter how much blood I see on TV or my computer, it will NEVER prepare me enough to see a person getting murdered, or murder a person myself. That makes no sense to me that people would think video games could alter a person that much.

The question isn't "influence" but "MOTIVATION". Where does THAT come from? Answer that question and we get to the "root" of the problem instead of just treating the symptoms.
Erm, Potluck, if you were saying that I was trying to turn this into a pro-anti gun thread, maybe you should have paid attention to the little winky I put at the end . It was a joke. I don't like guns but as long as they've got enough brains to keep em locked away I couldnt give a rats arse if someone likes guns.

I can see what you are saying, though. Kind of like a kid wants to be superman after watching the movie, or how a guy wants to get in a fight after watching the Matrix. But NEVER, have I seen a movie that motivated me to think about killing anybody. BUT, I guess not everybody is the same. I guess this is just a never ending argument.
Yeah, Xevious, I can see your point about the example. But animals react or respond to stimuli too. It's primal. I never saw a gun in school as a kid. So as technology advances our civilized nature goes backwards.
