Mutators not working

I am fairly new to using mutators, but I can't seem to get them working. One inparticular - the blood footsteps one will not work! It is all installed and I can select it as a mutator when I start the game it's just when I'm playing it doesn't seem to make ANY difference at all! HELP ME!

yeah.... I found that too!
but I couldn`t be bothered with it enough to enquire why.....
........(wasn`t very helpful was it?)
