I think you just choose it from the menu. Or try host one and then do it that way.

I'm not totally sure, ask Moose he knows all

He sure does and anytime soon now, Vuko will be his replacer in case of absence!

Whichever machine you decide is to host, go to the preferences menu and to the network tab. Select the LAN option rather than the 28.8k-56k

Once that machine has started a network game (preferably as a dedicated server), all the other machines have to do is find LAN games under the multiplayer menu.
That's assuming they've got the right protocols (IPX/SPX protocol & NETBIOS, TCP/IP...)

That should get it working right

LOL

Start UT. Hit ESC to get to the UT Menu screen. Click on Multiplayer | Start New Multiplayer Game. A window will pop up with settings for the game. Choose your game type, rules, bots, etc. Under the Server tab you can set your admin name and password and WWW admin access. You will want to check the optimize for LAN option if you are doing a LAN game. You can choose to advertise server to the Internet and/or log ngstats from the Server Tab. When all the settings are to your liking click on Dedicated in the lower right of that window to start a dedicated server (or click Start to play on that computer as well as host it) NOTE Dedicated is MUCH better for lots of players! To find this server, start UT on the other PCs. Hit ESC to get to main menu. Click on Multiplayer | Find LAN Games or Multiplayer | Open location and type the IP address of the server in that field.

Have fun...
