Translocating while running

I saw this bloke constantly translocating and thus moving along at a silly rate while being virtually unfraggable.

What is the best way / control method to do this?

Eric Rojas August 10th, 2000 05:25 PM

basically, start running, aim up with the translocator (not straight up), and let it get to the farthest distance...then teleport, and repeat

takes a lot of practice...try doing it in a practice session to get the hang of it

Select the translocator as your weapon.
Point it in the direction you want to go.
Start running.
Click primary fire.
Wait half a second for it to get a little way away.
Click secondary fire.
Lather, rinse, repeat.

Take out the redeemer, aim at ground using a 45 degree angle, fire...oh wait, you wanted to get there in one piece. http://boards.ioerror.com/biggrin.gif

I tried that, and it worked quite effectively, the enemy didn't see it coming. And i'll tell you ultra high velocity kibbles can have someone's eye out you know http://boards.ioerror.com/biggrin.gif

/me chuckles
it's always fun to aim the redeemer at your team mates (when FF is off) and watch them fly...kinda helpful in Face when there's a friendly flag carrier comin' your way...give 'em a nice boost

I've been knocked off that fucking map too many times by a moron who can't aim the redeemer, or exercise judgment in where it hits...

I love the way "translocating while running" can turn into "blow your teammates around the level with a thermo-nuclear blast" - keep it up! http://boards.ioerror.com/biggrin.gif

Someone flung me with a redeemer blast the other day, and I ended up in the mystery spot. Heh heh.

Ahhh - i can see it now, falling to your death desperately using your MouseWheel to try and get to the translocator, and switching back and forth between piston and sniper! http://boards.ioerror.com/wink.gif
