Sunday Match... A Flop....
 

So WTF.... so far my first experience with the "Big Matchups" wasn't too impressive.


Server probs....then 3 or 4 of us were never told the password to get on the new server.... Now mind ya...i'm not blamin any one person but I'm just saying that some of us do have lives and for us to dedicate a certain time frame to this means we need to schedule in the slot... then to have it turn into a bust like that is less than enjoyable...

The people who ran the network here have put speed restrictions on pretty much every ethernet jack in the dorm, so that's why the Gate 3 is down, and will be down until next month. I talked with the admin of Gate 2 to see if we could use his server, but the webadmin on Gate 2 wasn't letting me in, so I couldn't change the game type. On top of that, Gate 2 was running some custom maps and I didn't want to make the people on 56K connections download some of those maps. SO we went over to Gate 1, and about that time the clan meeting for Destruction Crew probably had just gotten out and so it pretty much became the clan vs. everyone else. I apologize for the way things turned out, and it's unfortunate that those network nitwits here at my school had to jack up our network. The network situation was beyond my control, but I'm taking steps toward getting around it. Hopefully this won't happen in future matchups.

My take on the debacle.........everyone ran screaming in the shadow of my blood curdling presence!!!!!....the cries of high pings and network limitations were desperate attempts at saving ones reputation for another day......Some others just immediatly resorted to whiney sobs and girlish laments, which did nothing to raise their level of cyber-masculinity.....and I therefore expect them to be wearing Fem Skins the next time we happen to meet. http://boards.ioerror.com/smile.gif

Cyborg: even tho it was a waste of time, I've got to say thanks for trying. You could have given up when Gate 3 went down... It wasn't your fault that happened.

Well, since I've moved into the new place I'm connecting through AOL at an improved 50,666...which has me pinging in the 350-450 range..... however it seems to be a lot more stable and is more likely to remain steady under 350. During times of light network traffic hours (prior to 6:00 PM ET and after 11:00 PM ET).... I can usually ping steady in the 280-350 range. I couldn't sleep last night so I jumped back on around 2:00AM and was in the 200-230 range!

i came on as a spectator, hoping maybe if not enuf folks showed up i might be able to sneak in for a while. then everybody's ping went to 1800 or so, you all left, and when i came back for a look-see, i couldn't even get to the password screen.
sorry you guys had to deal with the hassles - i too, even as a spectator, was all revved up with no place to go. when you all retired to icq, i had no idea what was going on...
better luck next time!!!!

I wasn't told the password either! And I only got about 20 minutes of fragging in 'cause it took so damn long to find another server that worked. I sure as hell hope not every one of your games is like that.
