LAN TROUBLES PLEASE HELP!!!! when we set up a lan connection it takes too long for the other computers to load the new maps. This happened all of a sudden. What could cause this and what can be done about it???? Please help!!! |
Are you sure the maps are installed on the second machine. If not, they have to be downloaded each time you connect. |
There is a utility out that extracts files that have been put into your cache directory and converts them back into usable files. I forget the name, but look for something along the lines of a UT Cache manager. Just direct it to your cache file (usually C:/unrealtournament/cache). You don't get the cache file until you actually download something during a game. ------------------ Even the mightiest may fall; fallen by even the weakest. |
Its called UTCM165. Unreal Tournament Cache Mananger version 1.65. http://boards.ioerror.com/smile.gif Just downloded it myself and it work great. Really user friendly. I cant remember if I got it at www.fileplanet.com or www.fileleech.com. One of those. http://boards.ioerror.com/smile.gif ------------------ Peace Out |
You must have the maps on each computer to play over a LAN. In my house we have a 5-way LAN and to use certain maps we have to copy them into the directory so we can play. It's f***ing great when you play CTF Face with 4 humans and 4 bots per team !!! 12 players causing havoc and one redeemer killin'them all !!!!!!!!!!! ------------------ =========== '....for whom the ReDeemeR tolls...' |
