Is it possible to burn an UT CD?
 

Hey ppl, is it possible to successfully burn a UT cd? I have heard that you may encounter problems with the new 4.13 patch.
Also, doesn't your IP number get logged every time you play multi?
Appreciate your responses in advance. In closing, its a great game I might just buy it. But I would like to know if it can or can't be done.

i dont know about when you play UT online, but when you post messages on msg boards your ip is logged.

you cant burn the UT cd because of the safedisc protection on the cd..... if you try to do a copy, it says there are errors on the disc. you can copy the files, but then you still cant run it on another machine.... you could always get a crack though, then you'd be good....

you can make a copy if you load the cracked exe file into the image first but when you update the game it wont recognize the cd or you can burn it with psx copy 6.2 and it will be no different than if you bought it from a store you can update and the hole deal

Not true. You can burn UnrealTournament but you need a program called BlindRead. You also need an 80min cdr. Use Blindread to copy the enitre disk onto the hard drive it ignores all error messages. you know what to do from there.

Just copy the CD on a regular 74 min cd. Then install the game. Then go to www.gamecopyworld.com and download the nocd patch from there. Read the install directions for the patch you get. There is more than one, you need to get the one for the version of the game you have. Then the game will play with no cd in.

Hell, if I wanted UT, I'd just pull if off an FTP.

Good luck with blind read tried three times and still didn't copy the files right

What happened during the process? you've got to read the error messages because some are intentional. It just about always worked for me. The only CD it failed on was a burned one with errors already on it.(not copyprotection)

Thanks a bunch for all your replies guys. Especially the genuine ones. But you know what? Being a programmer and webmaster myself, I can appreciate the hours of effort the guys have put in UT. Just for that reason I am going to buy the game. Thanks again.
