The deal with "w00t"
 

Well, all the day throughout IRC i hear people saying w00t this and w00t that and w00t you. Well, an IRC buddy of mine told me that he was the ONE who actually started the w00t deal, his nick on IRC is D00D and he says the w00t goes with d00d back from his *shiver* Q3 days. Hopefully this will get some replies but does anyone else have a reasonable explanation for w00t? Besides mine where D00D said w00t when he kicked ass [apparently]

I always translate it into "woohoo!" (an expression of happiness)

I've been under an impression that a friend of mine invented that word. At first he said "r00t!", which was pretty dumb IMO, then he said "w00t" one day and I thought it had derived from his old one, and it sounded a bit less dumb.
