yes. It is good. All shall die. Then I will be alone with my voices. All alone. Alone alone alone alone. All alone, in the dark. Kill. (Actually, I don't know anything about S3TC... but you might want to check out what S3 has to say about it, or the UT site. I have a feeling that it's enabled by default, though. And the Texture Compression is only for speed, not higher quality, as far as I know. More info in a smaller space. Just enable the higher detail shiz in the UT options menus. It'll look better if you have a fast enough machine) ------------------ "Those parts of the system that you can hit with a hammer (not advised) are called hardware; those program instructions that you can only curse at are called software." - Anonymous , Levitating Trains and Kamikaze Genes: Technological Literacy for the 1990's |
it doesn't just make it faster. it actually uses textures that come on the second disk that are compressed 6 to 1. some of them are amazing, but it seems that others aren't even affected. like the walls and crates and stuff on some levels are quite intricate. you can see little cracks and impressions and such. the crates sitting on the floor on the first level look quite impressive. oh well. thanks anyway..... ------------------ Ryan Hardcore Gamer Wannabe........Yup that's me! |
