What WAV format do taunts have to be in?

I tried using PlayThis to add a taunt, as I'm sure many of you have. When I tried to use the taunt from the menu, the game crashed. I heard something about a certain WAV format you need to use -- how can I make sure my WAV file is the correct format?

I believe 44kHz, 16bit... but I could be mistaken...

The file "M2DieBitch.wav" is 8-bit, 11KHz mono. All files related to taunts have to be in that format.

Hope this helps in some way!
