Setting MaxFPS in unreal? Is there a console command to set the max fps for unreal? My internet connection is somewhat unusual. Unless I cap my fps in quake2 at 30 my ping jumps to 9999. Same wiht q3test (except there I have to cap fps at 20). if I run unreal tournament in softwaremode at a high resolution I get few enough fps that my ping is playable, but when I switch to my v2s they try to churn out way more fps than my modem upstream can handle and my ping spikes to over 9999 making the game unplayable any suggestions? Thanks in advance |
Ugh.... odd problem you have their. http://boards.ironkite.com/wink.gif I don't know how to set a max FPS, but I could suggest you get a new ISP! ------------------ "Better the Devil you know." Unreal Tournament Center Webmaster Go to http://www.utcenter.com for all your UT needs! |
really...i get a ping of 350 or less on my ISP..and i never run close to 56k |
A PING OF 350? ARE you INSANE? How could you even PLAY a game with a ping of 350? Man, that sucks. I refuse to play a game if the ping is over 50! Of course, being on a 100Mbit ethernet helps. Still tho..whats the point? ~LxMxFxD |
Here's a possible solution to your problem: Options menu, Preferences, Game - there's a slider there for game speed. It's set at 100% by default and when I tweaked it up to 200% I got exactly that amount of frame rate improvement. I figure it should work the other way too. Find out what your average frame rate is offline and then tweak the slider until you get it to about 30fps. Not perfect, but it should work. |
Look in options/advanced options, and you can set the max FPS in one of the menu's there. |
