Re: What maps?

I think he means custom maps.
Well, Community Bonus Pack 2 (CBP2- CBP1 was for UT2003 and apparently will be re-released for UT2004 sometime in the future) has some decent maps in it, including some decent Onslaught maps. Other than that I very rarely find custom maps I like, and like BurgerBeast I don't even like Onslaught so I can't really recommend anything else to you.

of course he does, but I don't play custom maps so that's all I can contribute with :P

Re: What maps?

Ok, now I am really pissed. I just spent a whole hour writing a 4 page post about all of the best custom ONS maps with screenshots and download links for all of them. I posted over 25 maps and links to the CBP2 along with the XP levels, and then when I tried to post it wouldn't let me do it and I lost everything!!!!!! Here are some of the links I posted the first time, but I'm not going to explain all of this crap again.

ONS - Ranger SE - MSU - http://nalicity.beyondunreal.com/map_hub.php?mid=7568
ONS - Grit SE - http://ut.filefront.com/file/ONSGrit_SE;28244
ONS - Apocalypse - http://www.levels4you.com/review.l4y?file=9601
ONS - Aliens (yes, based on the movie) - http://www.mapraider.com/maps/?fileid=2113
ONS - Nevermore SE - http://nalicity.beyondunreal.com/map_hub.php?mid=7311
ONS - Tropic (No Screenshot at the link I provided, so here is one for you...)http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...T2004/5688.jpg
http://download.beyondunreal.com/fil...ons-tropic.zip
ONS - Kakmo (UPC) - http://www.mapraider.com/maps/?fileid=2221
ONS - Spiffingrad - http://www.levels4you.com/review.l4y?file=8203
ONS - Junglehill2 - http://www.fasterfiles.com/pafiledb....on=file&id=955
ONS - Icarus - http://nalicity.beyondunreal.com/map_hub.php?mid=6903

Ok, make sure you download ONS - Aridoom and ONS - Ascenancy. These two maps are the "XP Exclusive" levels for UT2004. Can find them here: http://www.games-fusion.net/filedb/p...on=file&id=851 (Scroll down for D/L link)

And this is the most important - Make sure you download both parts of the CBP2 (the community bonus pack) because it has the most visually stunning collection of maps/skins/mutators that exist as custom content for UT goes. They are professional quality and are worth every second of the Download. Here is a link to a bunch of pics and the Download spot: http://www.planetunreal.com/cbp/maps.htm

Sorry I couldn't post more information about these maps. I spent an hour trying to explain to you the benefits and disadvantages of each, and these are only some of the ones I posted. I'll update you when I've got some time but this should quench your map thirst for an hour or two...;)

Re: What maps?

Oh yeah, and this map is AWESOME. It is huge. It is the most epic map I have ever seen for ONS. Forget one theme, this map has like 6 distinctly different environments...

It's twice as big as ONS - Dria and really packs a punch. Best with 32 players :)

Hey, I'm REALLY sorry for the Triple Reply. I don't want to get banned but It seems like I'm the only one providing links, and since it is helpful for everyone, I'm going to do it anyway:D

I can't believe I forgot about this map in my first post. It definately was in there the first time I typed it out. Here is ONS - ToonCountry, a cell shaded ONS map that uses the same graphic style as the Gamecube Game Zelda: The Windwaker. It is beautiful, just take a look at the screenies and see for yourself! I heard the author is working on a new ONS map in the same style but at nighttime with a much more fun skybox :P

Don't worry about the multi-posting man, they're all useful posts and there's a good reason for them being staggered. Thanks for helping out. :)
