I Am Deeply Anoyed My Enternet Pop Ups That Scrue Up My Game..need Help Badly

i have downloaded a pop up stopper ( called pop up stopper free edition ) and while peacuflly killing ppl online i am presented a game crash to windows.. after which my pop up stopper proudly shows me that it blocked some pop up.... AND IT WASNT EVEN BLOCKED!!!! it is some pop up that when i click on it ( it apears beside my start button ) it doesnt even open..and the pop up is called: ====Enternet Expl and i cant see the rest of the name...

that pop up that doesnt even open and doesnt have a name haunst me forever.... it crashes my ut, scrues up my max payne 2 to the point that it freezes, and my ut looses connection with the server i was playing in gets all scrues up. ALSO FOR SOME REASONS NEXT TIME I PLAY UT AFTER HAVING CRASHED WHEN I DYE I RESPAWN RIGHT AWAY AND HAVE TO GO TO MY UT CONGIFGURATIONS FILE TO FIX IT.... PLZ HELP

That sucks. I woudl just reformat if it is that bad. That gets rid of all your problems or get Ad-Aware6, my friend uses it and he playes Ut/Ut2003 and he's never complained.

i have never used that software but the other post that suggest adaware is good or u can use zone alarm free edition. even with zone alarm, u can still get the annoyng popups if u dont have it configured properly. also make sure u right click your network connection in the control panel, get properties and make sure client for microsoft networks is unchecked. if u dont want to worry about installing new software or messing with settings, just use ICF (internet connection firewall) that comes standard with win xp, assuming u r using win xp. its actually a very good firewall for inbound traffic but doesnt police outbound, wich is how most trojans and worms work. but if u keep your OS updated with the windows update and your antivirus updated u will not have to worry about this. i had this same problem when i first used zone alarm come to find out it was a simple setting and it was fixed. on my gaming machine i use ICF and it works fine, no more popups interupting my game or any of that. if u want help turning on ICF just post back.

partlycloudy i did the uncheck client thingie that u told..im not sure if it works yet..

I used that pop-up stopper at one point, it sucks, and it waste space on my harddrive, it worked well for a day, than it died out, I use the google toolbar and it rocks. So... what ever floats your boat.

think u replied to wrong guy but whatever u meant, google toolbar is great popup stopper for IE but thats not the kind of popups manslaughter was getting. he was getting popups that search for active network IP's with open ports thru firewalls.

You can also just download Mozilla (www.mozilla.org). Theire is an popup killler integrated in that browser and it's a better browser then that sucky MIRCOSHIT EXPLODER (theire are more advantages). If you download it don't forget to turn the popup killer on.
