Re: Shutting Down Issue

Ok, what version are your sound and graphics card drivers? People say all the time they have the latest drivers, but, for example, last week someone said they had the latest... I asked what drivers, he insisted in telling me the latest. Finally, I told him I'm not going to help him if he doesn't tell me his graphics card drivers. BTW he has an ATI Radeon. He tells me Catalyst 3.0, which was released 01/10/2003. I just shook my head. So let us know.

I have Catalyst 3.7.I don't wanna install 3.8 and .9 cos Call of Duty keeps crashing with them. But is it with an overheating issue? Or Shortage of power.

Re: Shutting Down Issue

Well its hard to tell if it is an overheating problem since you can't even see how hot the CPU is getting. You could order a cheap thermometer for your CPU and check it out.

It's unlikely that it is the PSU. You don't have a top-notch graphics card, a high fsb cpu, or a fast turning hard drive.

Try updating it to the new 3.9s and try to play Warcraft III, since COD doesn't seem to be working for you. Even though Call of Duty works perfectly for me, and I'm running the new 3.9s.

Also, have you updated the drivers for your integrated sound through Windows Update?

Are you absoloutley sure it's shutting down and not just hibernating? Do you get the message "Windows is Shutting Down" or is it just random, and you see a horrid black screen?
