computer noise

This is gonna sound stupid but whenever i boot up my computer there's a continous beeping noise then it will go away and come back for a while. I have a 2.4 ghz, p4, 512 ram, XP . I know it sounds stupid but its loud and annoying. Whaty could be causing it?

Is it coming from your system speaker or the speakers plugged into your sound card?

If i't's coming from your beeper in the case, consult your Motherboard's manual to find out what that particular beep means.....
