Voodoo 5 help really really needed!

I got a 2nd hand voodoo 5 5500, when i put it in my PC and wire it up my power supply guts out. My PSU was 250W, now i got a new 350W PSU and exactly the same thing happens. I unplugged everything except the voodoo 5 and one of my harddrives put the system still wont boot up or even come on. Do i seriously need a bigger PSU or there something else wrong???
I'm my PC i've got a LAN NIC, SB Live, Voodoo 5, two Harddrives a floppy and a DVD/CDROM.

Thanks in advance.
