modem probs
 

every since i've reformated theres been probs with my modem..
for example when i try to connected 3/4 times i get password probs when i' 100% sure the p/w is right. during counter-strike there is now massive lag everytime..
i know i have the same drivers before i reformated..
any ideas?

Sounds like a bad connection. A driver problem is not liekly to make the password fail sometimes and give you lag.

If it's a hardware modem (as it should be for gaming) there really is no driver, just an INF file that tells Windows what the init strings are.

If it's a hardware modem, maybe it used the wrong drivers or the default Windows drivers instead of the ones that came with the modem. Maybe there's updated drivers on the manufacturer's web site. Or try Windrivers.com

Check the phone line - connect a phone to the same line the computer is using, dial 8 to kill the dial tone and listen. If you hear a hum or crackle you've got problems.

Disconenct everything else connected to the phone line the computer is using and see if that helps. Make sure the computer is the first thing connected to the phone line and the cable is as short as possible.
