Hey guys
So before we go any further, specs:
current setup:
Intel i5-3570k CPU default 3.4GHz running at 4.3GHz
Corsair Vengeance DDR3 2133mhz Ram 2x4Gb Installed
Asus maximum gene V Motherboard.
+
2x4Gb sticks of ram sat on my desk brand new
Corsair Memory Vengeance Racing Red 8GB DDR3 2133 MHz CAS 11-11-11-27 Dual Channel Desktop - CMZ8GX3M2A2133C11R - Scan.co.uk
So i started by overclocking my CPU for the first time in a year of ownership and found a stable setup at about 1.3v for 4.3-4.4 GHz
After leaving it for a week with no windows freezes or game crashes i bought a ram upgrade, from my research its identical to the ram i first got in my machine.
Thus when installed, total ram is 16Gb. Ran fine for a while but then got a bsod. i've received 3-4 in the past week. 3 for memory and one for bad pool header.
In my investigations, the motherboard was already running my ram too slow so i kicked it up to 2133mhz. Still got errors, so i lowered my overclocked cpu incase that was the error. nope, still there.
Upped the ram voltage from the auto 1.5 ish to 1.6v, then i got the bad pool bsod. but with so much going wrong i'm massively confused and need help!
Also, updated my BIOS to latest version, still didn't help.
So my machine will always boot fine, i get a bsod after use. most frequently this week its been when i've been running a starbound server, playing starbound with youtube or a skype video call running too.
any thoughts on how to proceed from here?
i'm back on the last stable configuration which is overclocked CPU and old ram installed, new ram on my desk.
Cheers
George
