Default Has anyone dealt with Western Digital RMA procedures?

I received a refurbished server from geeks.com yesterday, and the 500GB WD hard drive in it was failed. I can RMA the server with geeks.com, but I'm hestitant to send in a fully functioning server just to replace a hard drive (When I could just pop one of my old drives in it and go), and I'm not sure if they'll send it back with another 500GB drive like it came with, or the 160GB drive their website said it had. The warranty is still valid for another year with WD, does anyone know if will they honor RMAs on products bought refurb through a vendor? I've heard good things, but that would way above and beyond the call of duty for a manufacturer.

EDIT: Nevermind, I just decided to go ahead and try the RMA. Will post back with how that goes. I chose Advanced RMA because I've got no approved packaging on hand, and I want my stuffs quicker, so hopefully everything goes smoothly.

Chalk up a victory for Western Digital. 3 hours after filing my RMA, there was a hard drive in mail for me, set to arrive on Monday. I think it says something about a company when they ship replacement products by 2-day air.

The WD warrantee process is the best in the industry IMO.

Well, I'm holding my breath on that one until I see if it's a new or refurbished drive, but if it is indeed new then I will agree with that.

However, I've yet to hear back from geeks.com through Amazon, and I don't have an account or order number to contact them through their site as far as I can tell.

You're almost guaranteed a refurb drive with WD RMA's unless they run out of stock of your drive. In which case they upgrade you to something else.
