Default HIS Radeon 7750 Review

Introduction

For the past year or so we have had Nvidia ruling the top of the market when it came to video cards. Then recently AMD dropped the bomb that is the Radeon 7970 on the market. It solidly beats the Nvidia flagship GPU while destroying it once overclocked. This mostly came due to the new AMD CGN architecture. What makes this architecture special is that it scales across the board for AMD. If they need a budget card all they have to do is cut off a few shaders and stream processors and it goes out the door. This is pretty much like taking the engine from a F1 car and shaving off a cylinder or two depending on what price segment you need to reach. Pretty cool huh?

Well, being a great AMD partner HIS has provided us with the newest AMD offering based on the CGN architecture. That card is the Radeon 7750. HIS has put their own spin on it by offering up their super cool iCooler cooling solution.

We will be taking a look at the brand spanking new Radeon 7750 throughout this review. If you have seen the Radeon 7970, this card is pretty much a much smaller version of that card. You get all of the super cool features that are on that card but you don't quite get the same performance.
The Radeon 7750 supports tons of cool features such as DirectX 11, OpenCL 1.1, DirectCompute 11, Accelerated video encoding, transcoding, and upscaling,UVD 3 dedicated video playback accelerator,AMD HD3D technology,DisplayPort 1.2,HDMI 1.4a,Dual-link DVI with HDCP,VGA, and many other features.

We'll be testing the HIS Radeon 7750 iCooler on a new test rig, which consist of the following Intel Core i7 - 3930K @ 3.5ghz (LGA 2011), Asus Rampage 4 Extreme motherboard, 2x2Gb Gskill Trident, 2x2Gb Gskill Perfect Storm memory, Custom water loop cooler and an Antec 1200w Quattro power supply.
Enough of all the pleasantries, and lets get down to business!
