Re: I've decided.... ram from any company is pretty much the same for reliability. the PCB for almost all companies is brainpower, and the IC is made by samsung, hynix, micron, powerchip, or Elpida( a couple other companies for servers but not really used in consumer-level stuff ) . The only differences are in spd profiles and that only has to do with compatibility( which can easily be fixed by a mobo bios update) But in terms of one company having ram last longer than another, thats simply untrue. |
Re: I've decided.... The 2600k is at least $100 more, not $50 more. I've checked a few sets of bench comparisons and quite frankly am not convinced the 2600k is worth nearly 50% more for the slight performance increase. Yes it has more cache and HT and a slight clock increase, but in games, esp with OCing factored in, there's not enough difference to warrant paying that much more. AnandTech even showed the 2500k slightly outperforming the 2600k in Crysis Warhead. |
Re: I've decided.... RAM doesn't really to much tbh. Any sort of gaming RAM will be fine. Going from 1333MHz CAS 9 RAM to 2000MHz CAS9 will give you maybe an extra one frame in games. The difference shows up in synthetic memory benchmarks alright, but who gives a crap? On the subject of coolers - they're both very good. The A70 is probably slightly louder than the H50 though. If you were to keep your processor at a given temp with both, odds are the H50 would make less noise doing it. That's the reason I picked a H50 over a Venemous X or NH-D14 originally. |

Re: I've decided.... my mom says that a computer dealer can get parts cheaper but apperantly shes wrong. |
Re: I've decided.... She may or may not be. Regardless though, said dealer isn't going to sell them at the price he buys them. |

Re: I've decided.... In my limited experience, it's usually more expensive at small computer shops because they don't buy and sell in the huge bulk that big stores do, and they don't have the advantage of minimal cost that online dealers do. |
