[Tech News] Creative Zii

This may be old news, but I don't know how many of you know about this, so here goes.

Creative is working on this device similar to the iPod Touch called the Zii. They currently have a developer version called the Zii Egg.

If it runs android like the phones do(as in it stays up to date) then I will be getting one.

Look at the Zii egg I can see an ipod touch killer. It has many of the features of the iphone 4 in a package that will cost less than iphone/ipod touch

If the real one releases soon, then I will be 100% glad I didn't get an iPod Touch a few months ago. (As long as this isn't a smartphone and actually is just a device with Wifi)

If that thing has GPS/ two cameras on it. Its almost for sure going to be a phone.

Yeah, looks like its pretty much a phone. Maybe not with conventional carriers though.

Yeah, definitely a phone. But from a cursory view of the page, it strikes me almost as a network (read: internet) rather an cellular device.

It also looks like a device that doesn't have a market niche, but is desperately looking for one.

Yeah, that one is the developer edition. Other companies will be allowed to mess with it however they want.
The one by Creative is supposedly going to be a Portable Media Player though (read the Wikipedia Article (not so reliable, but I said supposedly))

I never had a desire for a PMP other than my laptop, but a consumer model of this would certainly have me reconsidering. I hope this isn't scrapped or converted into a phone only.
