First time on extreme cooling So, a few days ago I did my first runs on dry ice. While I didn't get the kind of clocks I was hoping for, I can sure say it was a blast! My clocks sucked, I couldn't get anything to run correctly (damn motherboard was missing some PLL voltages and other settings) it was still a great experience and taught me alot. Here are a few highlights from my session, got a cpu-z of 5350mhz but I deleted it on accident and got a quick 5206mhz before I ran out of dry ice =/ Temperatures the whole time were around -60*C to -65*C. cpuz: http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=1207400 http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m...dom/wprime.jpg http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m...dom/pifast.jpg http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m...odom/pi32m.jpg http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m...f-bodom/pi.jpg http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m...f-bodom/03.jpg http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m...f-bodom/01.jpg And pictures of the rig: Spoiler: Ironically, I got better results running 3D and set a couple of personal bests with the 5870 :D The crazy part is that if you insulate the board properly there is absolutely no risk involved at all, I was expecting to get some boot problems or something next time I started up the rig and had no issues at all :Puzzled: |
