Mouse Lag

I seem to be getting some mouse lag. It first started, after I installed all my new parts, as I was playing Age of Conan. I noticed every once in awhile it would lag for a few seconds, making it very difficult to click things. I tried a few things thinking it was just the game since it didn't lag like that in any other game. But now I'm starting to notice it even when I'm just on my desktop not playing games.

I'm currently using the Microsoft Wireless Mouse 5000. I've replaced the batteries, I've updated the drivers and I don't think its lagging because it's wireless, as I've been using this mouse for quite sometime and this is the first time I've noticed it.

Any ideas on how to solve this?

The main problem is that you're using a wireless mouse. I used to use one back when I first started playing CoD MP. It sucked some major ass, so take my advice and use a wired-mouse.

Well why is it after 6 months of use it just starts to lag?

That's just how wireless mouses (mice =p) are, they're never a good choice for gaming, and it's a pain to keep having to replace the batteries.

I don't think his wireless mouse degraded overnight into a piece of crap after 6 months of use, there is probably some other explanation. I could be wrong though, I just can't see it happening like that.

Are there any things that could block the connection? Either wifi, microwaves,...

The only things that are somewhat near it is my cell phone, a cordless home phone, internet wireless adaptor on the back of my computer, PS3 and Xbox 360 (with a wireles adaptor) Would any of those effect it?
