Realistically, hell no. That's just not going to happen. The rest of your computer can be top-notch, but the 8400GS is going to be a severe limiting factor. For serious gaming, you'll want an 8600 or 9600 series card, at the very least.

Yeah, what's this new computers specs look like?

Chances are if you didn't option for a good graphics card it might have came with something pretty crappy. A lot of pre-builts are like that.

Well, on my PC I have a 1.5 ghz core 2 duo. Its not that bad at all. I got an 8600, and it seems to run most games pretty well. But I would recommend that you get one of the newer cards like a 9600 because they will last you longer and give you better performance. If your looking for affordability, go for ATI cards. They are great as well. :)

_________________________________________________ I only have 1.5 ghz, and I can play left 4 dead 2 at medium/high (or all high) settings no problem. I only got 2 gigs of ram and an 8600 256mb as well. But can your motherboard support a 8400? You might want to check up on that. I know mine can only support up to an 8600, so that's what im keeping it at. Going to invest in a new system soon though.:)

BTW I have seen 9600's for like 50-70 bucks around here, even the 1gb ones! Great deal for sure!

The mobo doesn't matter for support of certain cards. As long as its got a PCIe slot it will support any PCIe card. Its your power supply that you have to watch.

Pcie 2.0 Graphics cards work in PCIe 16 slots right?
