Having display problems I decided to play some old games I have and am having some problems. When I load the game up my monitors quit working like they are not getting a signal. This was a reinstall of the games but all have been played on this pc before. I have a similar problem when I download games from steam as well. There must be a setting somewhere I cannot find. Re: Having display problems What happens when you switch a) either your windows resulotion b) your color depth |
Re: Having display problems At what point does the monitor lose the signal? Do you get to see the menu screen? Do you get to see the startup movies? Or does it blank out as soon as you launch the game? And what's your PSU like? |
Re: Having display problems Sorry guys, thanks for the responses. I have been too angry at my pc lately. I have a corsair vx550 less than 6 months old. As soon as I launch the game the screen goes black and then the dell menu starts dancing around like when I turn the pc off and leave the monitor on. I used to switch back and forth from my monitor to my tv so I keep my resolution at 1280x1024 at 60hz because thats the best my tv can display. My monitor can go a little higher but I just leave it there. After I launch the game and use the windows button to get back to my desktop where should I go to start looking for problems? Thanks guys. or gals. And sorry I didn't see the "no gaming related issues" until just now. |
Re: Having display problems What type of TV do you have? If it's widescreen 720p do not use 1280x1024. You should be using 1280x720. |
Re: Having display problems Its 1080p. I am currently not even trying to play on the tv until I can at least get them to show on my monitor. My 2nd monitor is turned off in my nvidia control panel. Update. All games working except gta IV. |
