| My internet speed recently, has decreased. Surfing the net-pages for certain to most websites have significantly slowed down. People in multiplayer games claim that I sometimes lag now which I never had. So I just wanted to ask if theres any way/program that can check whether something has hitched a ride on my computer or net, is stalking my net and making it slow down. Just wanted to ask first before I decide to make a customer service call..... And if I recall, it happened only recently, just like the damned FF forum hacker planted the virus. Could it be linked? EDIT: I checked using Malwarebytes, but they detect nothing. AVG removed a couple of tracking cookies and Lavasoft's Ad-aware or was it something else detected nothing.

| In terms of malware or a source inside your network, you can just watch your modem when your computer's idle. If the Internet light is flickering away significantly when there should be little or no activity, there's your issue. The first thing to do, though, is a speed test to determine whether it's your download rate that's the issue, or performance on your computer being impacted in some way. Assuming it is your download rate, try unplugging your modem for a couple minutes, then plugging it back in and giving it another speed test. If it's back up to par, your modem's going on you. If that's not it, then, well that's a tougher prognosis, so we should be sure of the other details first. |

| Download speed seems normal. Don't know what upload speeds are for... My PC/Activity part of the modem seems to flicker away at intervals even when idle, so I don't whether its that or not, since the word 'PC' is also there....

| Download speed is really what matters with loading websites, and you've got plenty of that. Your upload isn't bad either.
