| Got my 4870x2 (pics to come later) And jeeeze, this thing is solid. I haven't overclocked it yet, and wasn't able to install the accelero heatsink I got with it. But DAMN, this thing scales pretty well. Its generally 40-50% faster than my 4890 when it was heavily overclocked. So im assuming that its around 60% faster than a single 4890. The only downside I'd have to say is it runs hot. Idles in the 40-60*C range, but loads in the 70*C range which isn't too bad since the fan only hits 40%. At 100% fan speed its the loudest video card I've ever heard, but its not bad at all when 25%. No driver issues thus far either, looks like CF is doing its job and hasn't not scaled in any game yet. I need to give it a further testing, but for those with a beefy power supply and dont want to pay $300+ to upgrade to a next-gen card. This would be your best bet in the $230-275 range.

I've been looking around for a good deal on one myself, after looking at a few more reviews the X2 matches or beats the 5870 in general, and when it does beat it, its by a good bit. I just missed getting one for $230 yesterday.... I would have went nice with my X3350 that i've now got to 4.0 stable.

| $230 is a good deal. I snagged mine for $250 w/ an accelero but the accelero is making my 4870x2 crash so I need to work all of that out. Its pretty frustrating. FFS. Looks like the 4870x2 is going to be gone next week. Going to get a couple of 4890s instead so its not a complete loss I suppose.

| What's causing it to crash? The Accelero not keeping it cool enough?

| No, the previous owner apparently flashed a different bios onto the card and changed the voltages as well so the card would crash after gaming for awhile. The accelero needed longer screws that weren't provided with the cooler so it wouldn't mount properly. Pretty awesome since the card corrupted my windows install since it would never shut down properly. Luckally I was able to get in through a ubuntu live disk and backup some of my stuff. But seriously, Im really pissed atm and the guy I bought it from was trying to pull some bullshit restocking fee which I said he can piss off to.

| Man that sucks. And if you flash it with the right bios and get longer screws? Wouldn't that be ok then?

| Yeah, except the card had been damaged before I got it. So now I cant even boot into windows with it. The website where I got it is saying that im at fault because I didn't return it the exact second I got it back which is some bull, if you paid $260 for a video card wouldn't you try and fix it to make sure you didn't do something wrong? I told them that if im not getting a refund I'm going to have to file a lawsuit since it is utter BS.
