Actually I was referring to CRT TVs being used as monitors, not CRT monitors, specifically the quality of text. After all, his post is about a TV, or did you forget that? If you've ever tried using a CRT HDTV as a monitor, you'd know what I mean. They're absolute crap for anything involving text. And btw, I'm still using a CRT monitor, a Dell Trinitron P1230 I just replaced a Viewsonic 220fb CRT with, and I have a 26" Samsung CRT as an HDTV, so I think I have a pretty good idea of how they compare.

so I guess it should be a pretty recent TV, it wouldn't have HDMI if it was a model from the 1980s' :hmm:

As Zamamee said, the TV is not a computer monitor and being a TV it has a very small resolution both in absolute terms and especially relatively to the screensize.

On another note, is this is the Toshina 56" 56HM195? If so, have you read the manual?

Oh, all I saw in your post was CRT tech, so I thought you meant CRTs in general

But yes, I agree, CRT HDTVs probably wouldn't give acceptable quality, they're probably better suited for consoles.
