Apple tries to gatecrash Win 7 launch with new commercials

I predict Apple's next ad (smear) campaign will be about the lack of an integrated Mail, Movie Editing software & Photo manager & you have to "find" it & install it yourself. You watch..I bet this is where it goes.
Which is not fair at all seeing MS just got raped by the EU over providing including their own browser. What would happen to Apple if they were held to the same standard?

AFAIK they never did. The only Intel Mac I'm aware of to offer more than 2 cores is the Mac Pro, which provides 4 or 8 cores (i.e. a pair of dual core Xeons or a pair of quad core Xeons).

Now they're selling Quad-Core iMacs. Though it's the most expensive iMac you can buy. The cheapest is a 3.06 C2D with a 9400M for $1190. The biggest is a 2.66 Intel i5 with a 4850 (512mb) for $1900. There's only a $800 price difference.

And also if you want, for an extra $200, you can upgrade that i5 to a 2.8ghz i7. So it's only $2100 when you think about it, but when I'm done with it (adding Final Cut, Aperature and Logic Express - plus a 2TB hdd) it's only $3000.

Btw, this is straight from Apple's site. So yeah.

Well that's great if you're made of money, but you can get an equally powerful rig, custom made for cheaper.

Could prob build 2 equivalent PCs and get a spare laptop/netbook for that cash. Which, I believe, was the point Cheese was making... Way overpriced.

As a PC user, I find Apple's ads slightly offensive. Basically implies I'm a dork for using a PC whereas all the cool kids are using Macs. Apple can bite my ass.

XP was the worst new OS when it was released then any other. Nothing worked at our work when we switched it over. It was a big mess, it was a good thing we still had lots of windows 2000 still around.

Granted it had a longer time to get the bugs out then any other OS.

Even 1 month before Vista was released, I bought a new computer (XP SP2) and within the 1st week it locked up (at boot up(Had to get it serviced)).

I installed Vista first chance I got and 2.5 years later it has not locked up once.

I've had a good many lockups with Vista, probably the same amount as with XP. I've had none with Win7 though i the couple months i've been running it.

I never had a single lock-up or blue screen with Vista. Not one. I used it for 2 years. Xp, on the other hand...don't get me started/
