Better yet, I would go down the street to my local Fry's or Micro Center and get a fan for only $4 with no extra fees.

Good luck finding some fans as high-quality as yate-loons for $4. They're the OEM for Nexus fans that are generally around $20. Not to mention the fact that not everyone has a frys or microcenter in their area.

Where I live, the only well-known place to get fans is Radio Shack, and they WAAY over-price their fans. Last I checked, a 120 MM fan was $20-$30. There is also a place that strips used Dell's and Mac's of their fans, and has a nice selection, but the prices are around $5+ there (very reasonable prices, considering most of them are pulled from Dell's, which seem to have quality fans).

Yeah, i would definitly go for a TRUE, or a Xigmatek with the LGA1366 bolt through kit. The TRUE and the Xigma's are about the best air coolers you can get.

Good for you. Were i live, the only PC shop in town is a little one room store run by three guys that deals mostly in used/traded stuff. To go anywhere else i would have to drive about 25-30 miles.

As for the fit, won't it be a bit tight on the Rampage II GENE?

It'll fit if the TRUE's rotated 90 degrees, but it'll still be really tight, especially if a thicker (eg 38mm) fan is installed. And as for the idea of upgrading to 12GB memory sometime in the future...

QFT. You're even lucky to have something THAT close. If I want to buy hardware from a store I can either buy something from best buy or drive 200 miles to go to Frys.
