Default Portable Hard Drive malfunction

I have a CP Technologies brand hard drive that comes up with a "corrupted path" error, and I don't understand why it would be doing this since it was working fine about a week ago. Also I have another portable drive which is a Hitachi brand and it works fine. Can anyone help?

make sure that the connection on the drive isn't broken. You might need to crack it open to check the drive.

ive noticed many people have had problems with external hard drives, in my view they are a bit a waste of money (with the exeption of laptops) you can get a decent high end PC with a shitload of space.

My suggestion is (if its still in warranty) get it swapped for another 1 OR re-install the software that comes with the external hard drive. i hope that helps
