HDMI adaptors allow sound through the channel unlike nvidia cards which do not have sound on the card. Just because the card maker chooses to not have an HDMI native on the card doesn't mean it doesn't support HDMI.

Asus and Gigabyte cards are not cheaper quality. Every company uses Foxconn as an OEM for their video cards so the fact that you say one is better than another means nothing. The only thing that differs is the cooler for the card and the customer service/warranty which is why nvidia makers usually charge more.

Ah, Quality I mean ATI vs nVidia, in that I also mean't drivers and quality of the build of the chips, Brand had nothign to do with that part.
