MY BFG 8600GT review!

I got a BFG 8600GT 512mb. Or THIS video card. I finally got out of the 300W power supply yesterday and got a 585W supply. Here are my basic statistics.

• CoD4 Highest/Lowest Framerate: 30/80
• BF2 Highest/Lowest Framerate: 48/130
• MoH:A Highest/Lowest Framerate: 29/60
• HL2 Series Highlest/Lowest Framerate: 50/150
• CS: S Highest/Lowest Framerate: 50/150
• Combat Arms Highest/Lowest Framerate: 80/170

Note: This was all with maxed out graphics in a 1280x1024 resolution.

These are all PROVEN statistics from experience. It's a good budget card. Got mine for like $50. I do not regret anything! Hopefully this will give you an idea of the power of the card and will help you in future buys. People calling this a weak card even if they explain why are WRONG!

That's pretty good. That's actually a really good card especially if you picked it up for that price! That's almost the same a 6600 in my area.

It is good. And actually it runs alot of those at a couple hundred FPS, as far as Combat Arms goes. You guys may wanna check it out. It's an FPS that's free. I put the link in the previous post on it.

Id like to know what FPS you got in Crysis. I myself have the same card but with less VRAM(256) and i get 12-20 FPS on High. How does your card operate during intense Crysis action?

^That's sounds like expected performance for your card in Crysis. It's the most horribly un-optimized gave ever. People with $5000 3-way SLI gaming rigs still can't get that game to run at high frame rates (like they can with other games).

It's a tech demo passed off as a game.

I have the PNY Version of that card. (Though mine is OC'd to 607 mhz core and 1500mhz mem) It runs the games you listed above about the same.. With the exception of the HL2 and CS: S.
I have had fraps and xfire say it runs at 500+ FPS (LOL right?)
Though, COD4 does go up to about 95 fps sometimes..

Looks quite good. might give it a DL...

I run at all high 1280*1024 2xAA @ ...... 3-19 fps....lol (Crysis SP Demo anyways)

Agreed. I wouldn't mind so much if the game were actually fun. but people just play it to show off their rigs...

Didn't download the game. I might try it eventually. Not much of a Crysis fan.

DO IT! Lol yup!

2GB of RAM on the computer and 512MB on the video card.

You could download the demo. Its not really big and its the same thing but with only 1 level.

Well, I gave it a DL. Not too impressed. but a fun arcadey shooter when I get mad at COD4 or BF2.
